Breeder Direct Testing Plan: Expanding Our Investment in Elite Genetics

Breeder Direct enters 2026 with our largest and most comprehensive testing program to date — a clear reflection of our continued investment in product development and our commitment to delivering new, elite genetic options to the independent seed industry.

This year’s program strengthens both the scale and precision of our research network, ensuring every hybrid we advance is proven across diverse environments and real‑world conditions.

Corn Yield Testing at Unmatched Scale

Our 2026 plan includes over 180 corn yield trial locations, covering a wide range of geographies, management styles, and stress environments. This expanded footprint allows us to validate performance where it matters most — on the acres the independent seed companies serve.

“This is the most robust testing network we’ve ever deployed,” said Matt Culler, Product Development Lead. “The scale of this program gives us the confidence to advance hybrids that deliver consistent, repeatable performance for the independent seed companies.”

Dedicated Silage Evaluation

To support the growing demand for high‑quality forage genetics, Breeder Direct will operate more than 12 silage testing locations in 2026. These trials focus on whole‑plant performance, feed value, and agronomic strength — helping us deliver silage options that meet the needs of modern dairy and beef operations.

A Pipeline Built for the Future

Across yield and silage programs, over 185 hybrids will be tested this season — the largest pipeline in Breeder Direct history. This includes new experimental families, elite conversions, trait‑enabled options, and regionally targeted maturities designed to meet evolving market needs.

“The independent seed companies rely on us to bring forward genetics that help them compete and grow,” said Loren Jesch, Commercial Product & Sales Lead. “This year’s pipeline reflects that commitment — more choice, more differentiation, and more opportunity for independent companies to succeed.”

Our expanded 2026 testing plan reinforces Breeder Direct’s long‑term commitment to innovation and independence. By investing heavily in product development, we’re ensuring the independent seed companies have access to genetics that compete — and win — in today’s marketplace.
